Coach Ray’s Sufferings: Falling Off the Wagon

This week went pretty well, until I went away for the weekend and had a few too many beers and also order dessert. I figured I was burning a lot of kiloJoules with all the exercise I was doing and it wouldn’t matter. But it all added up and it DID matter.  However before I got to that point I had some good results with another 1.6kg lost over 6 days.

I’ll show you all the details at the end of the post.

How to Plan an Adventurous Training Session for Spring Challenge

Spring Challenge Training

Earlier this week I wrote an article that has been very well received about my Top 3 Training Locations in Takaka for the Spring Challenge. Now not all of you will have the opportunity to travel to Takaka to train for the event so you will want something adventurous close to your home location. Beginner Adventure Racer Enjoys the Spring Challenge with Guidance from Coach Ray

Adventure Race Coaching

Signing up to Spring Challenge as a first timer was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. Aside from riding my bike around town with my children, I’d not covered much other terrain. Long runs was something I was relatively new to and as for multi sports, I’d never tried any previously. Best of the Internet for Endurance Athletes: 03 April 2016

Each Sunday I’ll post my ‘best of’ list in a number of categories from the inter-webs. Other weeks can be found here.

Godzone Adventure Race

The worlds biggest and best adventure race, held right here in Gods Own. Competitors will be competing non-stop over the next 3-5 days and started at midday yesterday.

Footage of the first day.

Live tracking of all the teams out on the race course. Follow their progress. Better than watching Shortland Street guaranteed.

There are great supporters out on the course over the weekend. I watched from a few different locations. Amazing racing especially Team Sword Fox & Yealands Family Wines going head to head.

Follow Spring Challange Training and Qwik Kiwi on Facebook as I’ll be sharing a range of Godzone related articles over the next week.
