“Training for excellence, with excellent training.”

FTPWhen you’ve completed your 160km lap around the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge course, you will have accomplished something special.

Designed for Intermediate cyclists who are looking to participate in  the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge event, the primary goal of this training plan is to prepare you to COMPLETE the 160km Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge FASTER than previously.

Crafted by myself, Ray Boardman PGDipSportsMed, PGDipRehab, PGCertSc (Exercise Science), BSc (Anatomy), DipSportsStudies this plan encapsulates my passion for the sport, my experience from completing dozens of cycling events over varying distances and my success coaching hundreds of cyclists & triathletes.

Starting 24 weeks before the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge (on the 11th June 2018), I have a range of plans available from a Beginner programme for someone doing the 80km as part of the relay team to Intermediate programmes for athletes with either a Heart Rate (HR) monitor or Power meter as Training Tools. Each plan progresses through phases to build you to your peak performance.
