Book of the Month July – Advanced Marathoning

Book of the Month July – Advanced Marathoning
This is the first in depth book on Marathoning that I read. It has guided my training and coaching philosophy. I’ve employed the principles found within it with a large number of my clients and training plans I’ve prepared.

Robyn’s Success At Queenstown Marathon

It seems my running destiny was determined the day I won a 3 month online training voucher with a bloke called Coach Ray, who helps train beginning and recreational athletes. I had always run for fun, but a long term iliotibial band problem had stopped me running much distance in the last 25 years. Luckily just before winning my Qwik Kiwi voucher, I had also found a fantastic physio who finally sorted out my knee issue. It seemed my running stars had aligned. When Ray asked me what my goals were, I told him that I would quite like to run the Queenstown marathon, and so the training began.

Friday Fartlek Run: Eliud Kipchoge’s Track Session before #INEOS159

Building consistency at race pace is an important skill for all runners regardless of race distance. This is a session Eliud Kipchoge did a couple of weeks ago in the build up to this weekends attempt at running a marathon under 2 hours. This session is great for runners and triathletes running events up to Marathon distance and longer.

How Jamie Took Over 2 Minutes Off His 5km Time In Only 4 Weeks

Like most busy people holding down a full time job and have a family that they need to spend time with he has struggled in the past with fitting his training in and then has ended up winging it on event day.
