Lisa’s Journey, Week 37: This weeks been a stiff one…

I tried and I managed to stay in the correct zone, and over 80% for two subsequent bikes so I think I finally ‘get it’! My HR can drop or rise so many beats just like that, so I’m up and down like a jack-in-a-box. But I think now I get it. I don’t have to go out and blow a fufu to gain, which was much like my running at the start. I felt I should’ve been running faster, but couldn’t keep it up the whole run, but when I listened (to the coach who doesn’t just say it, for the sake of it) I found I could actually keep on running. Yeah, I know I need to listen.

I know what it feels like…

I woke up with a stiff neck Monday morning, which was a fantastic start to the week – not!  No amount of pain killers or heat packs has really helped it. So this week has been a bit of a right off, which of course in turn annoys me, as you know you need to get out, but you can’t escape your neck. So there is not much to write about. I have felt really, really lethargic – throw in a period and some headaches, which are possibly coming from my neck or maybe I’m fighting something off as I haven’t been feeling 100%. I’m not sure what’s going on, but it can all just shove off!!

I feel like I need to have a stiff drink to accompany my stiff neck, and the pizza I ate! I definitely notice my eating changes when I’m sore and can’t do want I want to do, which in turn causes more frustration! It’s a vicious circle!

My thoughts go out to all those in the Nelson area dealing with the terrible and very frightening fires. I hope they can get it under control soon.

Ciao for now.  x
