BLOG # 11 – Post-Ironman Recovery and ASA Sponsorship

Tri Training NZHi Team,

For this weeks training my Coach, Ray Boardman from Qwik Kiwi, has conducted recovery training post Ironman.  It is similar to the week leading up to an Ironman where you taper off before an event to get you ready.  Once the event is over there is a period required to allow the body to repair itself.  With all the training, as you can imagine, you look forward to these taper and recovery periods, but you do find yourself wondering what to do with yourself on occasion.  My partner even said to me the day before Ironman, “You don’t seem as nervous as I expected you to be, but you sure can’t sit still”.  So from next week onwards, Ray will be building up the training extensively as we head towards the physical and mental challenge of Ultraman Australia, being 515 km’s over 3 days during the period 14-16 May 2016.

This brings me to my sponsor who has come on board and provided us with a 4WD and a caravan.  The sponsor is ASA Anodyne Services and this is what they are about:
