Lisa’s Journey, Week 45: Caught Out…!

It’s been a bit of a lax week this week with my training and one thing and another. My luck with the weather is normally good. I seem to get my workout in before the rain comes or it stops as soon as I head out. I thought I had lucked out again until halfway through my bike when the sky turned grey and opened its flood gates. I think it’s safe to say, see ya summer!

I just read UltraHumps’ blog about his journey to ‘Finding Ultraman‘. Pretty inspiring John. I love stories like this, where by chance you pick up something as simple as a book and it changes your life (or by opening your mouth and agreeing to run 10kms). The best part is whatever the reason, it has come to you at just the right time! If you’re trying to get on track and stay on track reading stories such as John’s is very uplifting!!

When I went for a bike through the forest track, I noticed there were mushrooms everywhere! Not sure if they were magic, but they looked really cool growing all over the place. I need to continue to practice my cornering on the downhills and into the corners. Pine needles take away quite a lot of traction!

I hope everyone managed to support Gumboot Day Friday 5 April. The weather played along here and it was a great day to wear gumboots! https://www.iamhope.org.nz

Have a great week and stay warm!

In 2018 Lisa took up the challenge of getting fit to do the 10km Kaikoura Whale Run. That ticked off, she has agreed to continue writing with the hope that she can inspire even the most stubborn (such as herself) to get out there, set challenges and make positive change in their life. No one said it will be easy, but it will be worth it!!

Check in next Tuesday for her next article.
