Lisa’s Journey, Week 46: Holiday Time!

Wooohoo, last day of Term One! I love that feeling. I actually delete the alarm off my phone – not sure why, as you can obviously just turn it off. I think I just like to make a statement to myself that there’s no school lunches to make and the kids and I are now ON HOLIDAYS!!

Evening goodness!

I’ve had a good week. The kids have come along with me once, which I always enjoy and it was a primo night. Last weekend my boy played his first game of rugby for the season and what a game they had! Every time I tell myself, “Now don’t be the loud, embarrassing, sideline mum”. But it’s just so damn exciting, especially when they’re scoring tries left, right and centre. Rugby fields are such cold places, so I figure if I jump around and get excited it’s easier to stay warm!!

Moody ole day.

The weathers turned to total poop again so I am really glad I got my bike in earlier. I quite like the colours that a grey cloudy day produces. I did come across a silly sheep with its head stuck in a netting fence. After some pushing and tugging I thought I’d bike back to the farm and see if they had some wire cutters, but no one was around. So I went back, and with further shoving, pushing, bending of wire, untangling of wool, some encouraging and not so encouraging words its fat woolly noggin was free, and my heart rate up. I hope he thinks twice about sticking it out there again, but probably not!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Travel safely if you’re heading away with family for the holidays!

In 2018 Lisa took up the challenge of getting fit to do the 10km Kaikoura Whale Run. That ticked off, she has agreed to continue writing with the hope that she can inspire even the most stubborn (such as herself) to get out there, set challenges and make positive change in their life. No one said it will be easy, but it will be worth it!!
