Mike’s Middle Distance Magic: Things are getting exciting!

Not got much to report in terms of training this week, it was just a case of business as usual. Really happy to getting back to consistent training and the bike feels much better now I’m training in my current FTP fitness. However I am looking forward to increasing my number to a better number, but aren’t we all!

So you may ask why are things getting exciting? Well most of the races I do in a year are with a company called Epic Events. They are called that for good reason as the races are, well EPIC! So today they confirmed their 2020 race calendar and opened up races for next year!

I’m really happy that they have added the races I did this. As I’ve mentioned previously I really want to make the changes needed to improve this year. And to do the same races next year it will be much easier to see progression and see improvements.

This will help with my motivation for the winter training but also after the first block of races in April and May and leading into my A race and me aiming for a sub 5 hour finish and a massive PB in August.

All this still feels a million miles away at the moment and I suppose it is, ive stillgot 7 months of solid training to fit in before the first race, let alone the A race. So il keep at it and lets see where we end up!

Short and sweet this week, right now time to head out for the long run, Bring it on!
