Tuesday Training Plan – Getting Started with Swimming Training Plan (BEGINNER 7 week Plan -Start Any Monday)

When you improve your swimming you will have accomplished something very special.

Designed for Beginner triathletes who are looking to improve their swimming fitness, the primary goal of this training plan is to ENHANCE YOUR swimming.

Crafted by myself, Ray Boardman PGDipSportsMed, PGDipRehab, PGCertSc (Exercise Science), BSc (Anatomy), DipSportsStudies this plan encapsulates my passion for the sport, my experience from completing dozens of Half and Full IRON-distance finishes and my success coaching hundreds of triathletes and swimmers.

Starting when ever you want to, this plan progresses through phases to build you to your peak performance. Each week contains two swims. You will build up to 1,700 metres swimming in a single session, having started off with a total of 500m with in the session. Although not necessary, I recommend using a Garmin with swim functions such as the Forerunner 745/945 or Fenix 5.

Prior to using this plan, you should be able to swim 100m continuously and 500m in a single session.
