I would recommend Coach Ray to anyone looking for a triathlon coach. His plans are based on consistency, making sure that you are able to back up your training to your own ability day after day, without feeling absolutely thrashed! This consistency, as well as a measured taper, had me standing on all my start lines, refreshed, relaxed, and confident in my ability. Thanks for helping my smash my goals Ray.

The Tawarewa Ultra 21km is a trail run from the Blue lake reserve, through the Redwoods, along steamy, sulphur trails and finishes on the lakefront in Rotorua. It is a pretty challenging course with an elevation gain of 734m. I decided that it would be a good training run for me to build some strength, leading into the Hawkes Bay Marathon in May.

Duncan Laing, arguably New Zealand’s most successful swim coach. I had the privilege of swimming under him in the mid 90’s, as part of his triathlon squad. One of his favourite sets was KPS or Kick Pull Swim. This session is focused around that and is perfect for Ironman and Olympic distance triathletes as well as people doing longer ocean swims.
